Livvia VIII explores how transition and control relate to response within an environment. Dilution of the acrylic medium reveals interplay of transparency and opacity among the forms. The addition of colored pencil linework to the painted surfaces marks an attempt to control the compositions. The lines direct the eye around the wilder elements formed by colors applied with foil before poured water disburses their hues. As the rhythm shifts, something is revealed of both the old and new.
"For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice."
– T.S. Eliot
