As I've been home more lately, I've found myself studying small corners and moments around the house, and coveting their simplicity. I've also been embracing quiet — usually I have music or a podcast on, or if it's the weekend the house is livelier with my partner and his daughter home, but lately I've been embracing the pause that's been forced on the world.
The process of art-making means I am my own company in an interesting way. I find that instead of thinking about things I have to do, I just sing to myself, or think up strings of poetic nonsense. It’s really a moment to be gentle with myself and the world. You are hardly exerting, you are not disrupting, and yet you are creating. I love that.
